Arapahoe Road (State Highway 88) provides the major east-west travel link from the southeast Denver metropolitan area to employment and retail centers along Interstate 25, including the Denver Tech Center. Current and forecasted traffic volumes and increasing traffic congestion along Arapahoe Road between I-25 and Parker Road prompted Arapahoe County to initiate a corridor study to address regional mobility and local accessibility.

DEA was selected to conduct the corridor study. The corridor study explores and defines the most appropriate set of improvements and measures to best move traffic through the Arapahoe Road corridor area, while considering the unique context of this rapidly developing area.

Key elements of the study include definition of corridor transportation needs, consideration of appropriate facility types and modal options to address corridor needs, and comparison and assessment of best improvement options.
