Depot Street Bridge Replacement

The Depot Street bridge replacement project consisted of constructing a state-of-the-art, concrete tied-arch bridge to replace the historic steel truss bridge. This type of bridge construction had not taken place in Oregon since circa 1930.

A unique technique used for the project was building the new 100-meter-long bridge in a temporary, offset alignment in order to accommodate local access via the existing bridge to both sides of the Rogue River Community during construction. After the new bridge was completed, the project team rolled it laterally eight meters into its final position using innovative heavy-moving technology.

DEA’s services included project management; public involvement; partnering; TS&L and final PS&E; engineer’s construction cost estimate and schedule; assistance during bidding; and construction management and inspection.
