National Park Service Transportation Planning
Location: United States, Guam, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands
DEA is the primary firm leading a multidisciplinary team for a five-year, $16 million contract to provide transportation planning, design, and implementation services to the National Park Service at parks throughout the United States, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Included in the project are Channel Islands National Park, Grand Canyon (North and South Rims), Devils Tower National Monument, Blue Ridge Parkway, Hawaii Volcanoes, Yosemite, Haleakala (Maui), Mesa Verde, and National Capital Parks.
Planning services provided include the General Management Plan for Blue Ridge Parkway, data collection and analysis, an environmental assessment and the environmental impact statement, transportation access and circulation alternatives, and consultation for a report to Congress on bus and light rail transit transportation systems for the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.
