United Harvest Loop Tracks
Location: Pompeys Pillar to Moccasin, Montana
United Harvest wished to construct unit train loading tracks at Pompeys Pillar and Moccasin, Montana. The projects included approximately 8,000 feet of loop and lead tracks, new grain elevators, access roads, truck dumping pits, scales, and other minor improvements. All track improvements were to be designed to meet the requirements of the BNSF Railway for unit grain train loading facilities. DEA provided site design and development services for track and turnouts to store and load up to 110-car unit trains; the gravel access/inspection road adjacent and parallel to the loop track for its entire length; drainage improvements; realignment of an irrigation ditch to allow for loop track alignment; and construction plans for track, roadway, drainage, and irrigation improvements.
