Sierra Verde is a 320-acre single-family community located in Surprise, Arizona. DEA provided rezoning and annexation services, and also prepared the preliminary plat, final plat, and final construction documents. Services included preparing construction plans and permitting for grading, sewer, water, and paving for the onsite improvements, as well as construction plans and permitting for three miles of offsite improvements. The offsite improvements included water, reclaimed water, sewer, paving and drainage infrastructure, as well as the design of recreation and trail facilities. The design, plan preparation, permitting, public bid, and construction of the City of Surprise’s Sierra Verde Well Site was also a part of the project, and involved investigating water quality treatment options for arsenic removal to meet 2006 drinking water standards. DEA performed construction observation services for the domestic water and sewer improvements, and prepared the Engineer’s Certificate of Completion applications for processing the Certificate of Approval of Construction by Maricopa County Environmental Services Department.
